Differentiating the Flagship S-Class
Starting at 159.6 Million Won
Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on August 26 that it is launching a new standard wheelbase trim of its flagship sedan, the S-Class, called the Mercedes-Benz S 450 4MATIC, with sales and customer deliveries set to begin next month.
Since the introduction of the fourth-generation model in 2003, the S-Class has surpassed cumulative sales of 100,000 units in Korea with its current seventh-generation model.
The newly launched S 450 4MATIC Standard Wheelbase inherits the S-Class's signature luxurious design, comfortable ride quality, and outstanding safety. It adds sporty details, a competitive price, and a wheelbase length balanced for self-driving, providing enhanced driving convenience.
For the 2025 model year, the S 350 d 4MATIC is offered for the standard wheelbase S-Class, while the long wheelbase S-Class lineup includes the S 450 4MATIC, S 500 4MATIC, and S 580 4MATIC. The addition of a gasoline model to the standard wheelbase S-Class lineup expands the range of options.
The front features an AMG front apron with an A-wing design, chrome-finished air intakes and splitter, while the rear is equipped with an AMG rear apron featuring chrome trim and a rear diffuser. The 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels also stand out.
The interior is equipped with a multifunction sports steering wheel wrapped in black Nappa leather and luxurious Nappa leather seats, while AMG floor mats on the floor allow occupants to experience the AMG spirit inside the vehicle.
Powered by an inline six-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the model delivers a maximum output of 381 horsepower (ps) and a peak torque of 51 kgf.m. The second-generation mild hybrid system provides an additional maximum output of 17 kW to the internal combustion engine. The standard AIRMATIC suspension ensures optimal ride comfort in any road condition, and the rear axle steering, with a maximum steering angle of 4.5 degrees, guarantees more precise and agile handling. The price is set at 159.6 million won (including VAT and reflecting the individual consumption tax reduction).
