Promotional and Support Benefits for Selected Establishments
Aiming to Ease Inconvenience for Single-Person Households and Solo Travelers
Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Jung Kimyung) announced on August 26 that it is recruiting "Honbap Restaurants," or restaurants designated as suitable for solo diners, in response to the increasing number of single-person households and solo travelers. The recruitment period runs until September 19.
The city plans to prioritize discovering and designating establishments that can serve Yeosu’s signature dishes, such as marinated crab set meals, braised cutlassfish, and marinated raw tonguefish, in single servings. However, general restaurants operating as cafes, bars, or pubs are excluded.
Selected establishments will be promoted through the city’s official website and the integrated Yeosu tourism app "YeosuN," and will receive priority benefits when the city implements its solo dining table distribution program in the future.
Applications can be submitted in person, by fax, or by registered mail until September 19. For more details, please refer to the Yeosu City official website.
A city official stated, "Through the designation of these 'Honbap Restaurants,' we hope that single-person households and solo travelers visiting Yeosu will be able to conveniently enjoy the city’s cuisine," adding, "We will continue to reduce inconvenience for residents and tourists and respond to diverse tourism demands."
