Written Exam and Interview to Ensure Fair and Transparent Recruitment
Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) has finalized the "2025 Goyang City Public Employee Competitive Recruitment Plan" and announced the job categories, number of positions, and recruitment schedule on the city's official website.
The recruitment includes a total of 11 positions across five job categories: three environmental managers, four canal workers, two dredging workers, one cook, and one case manager.
Applicants must be South Korean nationals aged 18 or older and under 60, with a registered address in Goyang City as of the day before the announcement (August 24, 2025). Specific qualifications and experience required for each job category can be found in the official notice.
Applications will be accepted for five days, from September 1 to September 5, and can be submitted through the Goyang City recruitment system. The written exam will take place on September 13, followed by interviews in October, after which the final successful candidates will be announced.
The recruitment process consists of an initial document screening to assess eligibility, a second written examination where five times the number of available positions will be selected, and a final interview to determine the successful candidates. For four job categories, including environmental managers, a physical fitness test will be conducted before the interview stage.
Since 2023, the city has introduced a written examination and online application submissions for public employee recruitment to ensure the selection of personnel suitable for public service and to enhance fairness and reliability in the hiring process.
Mayor Lee Donghwan stated, "Through fair and transparent recruitment, we will identify outstanding talent suited to each job's characteristics and assign them appropriately to provide administrative services that truly impress our citizens."
