The express bus (M6660) connecting Geomdan New Town in Incheon to Guro in Seoul began operations on August 25.
The M6660 route operates between Geomdan Elementary School and Guro Digital Complex Station, covering a distance of 35 kilometers at intervals of 20 to 50 minutes. Initially, four vehicles have been deployed, with plans to increase the number of buses in response to future demand.
With the launch of this express bus service, the commuting environment for residents of Geomdan traveling to the southwestern area of Seoul is expected to improve significantly. In particular, commuting conditions for workers traveling to and from Guro Digital Complex Station are anticipated to become more convenient.
Incheon City is also working closely with the Metropolitan Transport Commission of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to open two new express bus routes in the second half of this year: Yeongjong Sky City (E Pyeonhan Sesang) to Yangjae Flower Market, and Songdo District 6 (Hillstate Lake Songdo 2nd) to Gangnam Station.
An official from Incheon City stated, "The launch of the M6660 express bus will resolve transportation inconveniences in Geomdan New Town and greatly enhance accessibility to Seoul," adding, "We will continue to improve the transportation network, including expanding new routes, to enhance the convenience of citizens."
