On August 25 (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump stated, ahead of the South Korea-U.S. summit, "It seems like a purge or revolution has occurred in South Korea."
On this day, President Trump wrote on Truth Social, the social networking service he created, "What is happening in South Korea?" and added, "You can't do business in a place like that."
The "purge or revolution" he referred to is interpreted as alluding to the investigations and trials involving former President Yoon Suk-yeol and others.
He also said, "Today, I am meeting the new president at the White House," and expressed gratitude by saying, "Thank you for paying attention to this issue."
