During the event, the university students harvested and packaged eco-friendly agricultural products directly in the rice paddies and fields, realizing that agriculture is not just about production but is a "sustainable industry" that protects both the environment and consumer safety.
In particular, the program was meaningful in that the younger generation experienced the challenges faced by rural communities and the value of eco-friendly agriculture by interacting directly with producers.
This program was designed to go beyond a simple rural experience, aiming to build mutual trust between urban consumers and farmers and to create a virtuous cycle between the production and consumption of agricultural products. Uiseong County plans to expand eco-friendly farming experience events in line with the autumn harvest season.
Kim Jusu, Governor of Uiseong County, emphasized, "Interest in the environment and safe food is growing day by day," and added, "We will continue to expand the number of certified eco-friendly farms to strengthen the competitiveness of Uiseong's agricultural products, and ensure that agriculture becomes a driving force for regional development and a future industry through urban-rural exchanges."
