Shinan County in South Jeolla Province announced on August 25 that it held a parent meeting and a food art therapy program for parents from multicultural families at the Shinan County Family Center on August 23.
This program was organized as part of the "Multicultural Children’s Language Development Support Project" to allow parents from multicultural families to share their concerns and experiences related to their children's language development, and to gain psychological stability through emotional exchange.
Participants took part in food art therapy activities, creating creative works with food ingredients and experiencing ways to build positive relationships with their children.
One parent participant shared, "It was new to learn that artistic activities can help with children's language development, and I was comforted by sharing concerns with other parents."
An official from the county stated, "Communication with parents is the most important factor for the healthy growth of children from multicultural families," and added, "We hope this program will help parents better understand their children's development and strengthen the community support network."
The county plans to continue operating a variety of parental support programs for the stable settlement of multicultural families and the language and emotional development of their children, while working to foster a community that respects cultural diversity.
