On August 25, the Ansan City Government announced that it held the opening ceremony for the "Hanyang University Erica Gifted Education Center" on the 23rd at the Medium Auditorium of the Conference Hall at Hanyang University Erica.

The event was attended by Lee Mingeun, Mayor of Ansan; Park Taesoon, Chairman of the Ansan City Council; Lee Heungup, CEO of the Ansan Talent Development Foundation; Baek Donghyun, Vice President of Hanyang University Erica; Park Kyungho, Director of the Science Gifted Education Center; Shin Kyusik, Director of the Robotics and AI Gifted Education Center; as well as approximately 200 new students and their parents.
Vice President Baek Donghyun stated, "The center is a space where students passionate about basic science and robotics/AI can realize their potential," adding, "With our outstanding faculty and educational infrastructure, we will support students to grow into future talents."
Mayor Lee Mingeun said, "We will continue to actively support the expansion of educational infrastructure and the development of creative convergence education programs so that talented individuals from various fields can fully demonstrate their abilities."
Earlier in March, the city established and has been operating a Gifted Education Center at Korea University Ansan Hospital. The city plans to support the Gifted Education Center so that it can serve as a hub for the early discovery of outstanding local talent and the cultivation of creative, convergence-oriented individuals in connection with the local community.
