The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that, together with the Korea Tourism Organization, it will host the "2025 Dure Together Day" on August 25 at the Conrad Hotel in Seoul.
Dure Together Day is a business briefing session aimed at promoting the sustainable growth of the Tourism Dure initiative by facilitating market expansion and networking for Tourism Dure community enterprises. The Tourism Dure project is a policy initiative that supports local community groups in founding and independently operating tourism businesses with unique regional characteristics in areas such as accommodation, food and beverage, souvenirs, travel, and experiences. Launched in 2013, the program currently fosters and supports 235 community enterprises across 50 local governments.
This is the first time a business briefing session for the Tourism Dure project is being held. A total of 124 organizations, including Tourism Dure community enterprises, travel agencies, and online travel agencies (OTAs), with over 250 participants, will attend. To raise awareness and interest in the Tourism Dure policy project within the travel industry, the event will feature briefings on support systems for community enterprises and product commercialization, as well as an exhibition area introducing Tourism Dure food and beverage products and souvenirs.
The Ministry plans to continue with follow-up support programs from September to December, to boost sales of community enterprise products-such as Tourism Dure travel packages-if business contracts between community enterprises and travel agencies are concluded through Dure Together Day.
Kim Geunho, Director General for Tourism Industry Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "This event is a very meaningful occasion where, for the first time, community enterprises and the travel industry are coming together for the sustainable regional tourism that Tourism Dure aims to achieve." He added, "We hope that Dure Together Day will establish itself as a platform for cooperation and mutual growth between community enterprises and the travel industry to revitalize regional tourism."
