This training program is part of the 'Visiting Specialized High School Convergence Technology Education' initiative supported by the Institute for Convergence Technology (Director Kim Yeonsang). It provides a total of 16 sessions of hands-on, experience-based educational activities to help 20 second-year students from the Department of Smart Electronics at Uijeongbu Technical High School strengthen their future ICT convergence technology competencies.
Students participating in this training will engage in systematic practical courses, including 3D modeling practice and 3D printing theory, DIY radar production using Arduino and ultrasonic sensors, and data visualization with Processing.
In particular, through project-based learning, students will develop creative problem-solving skills by building a functioning radar using ultrasonic sensors and servo motors, and visualizing and analyzing sensor data.
By introducing this training program, Uijeongbu Technical High School will provide students with specialized ICT education programs, including strengthening coding and maker skills, understanding IoT-based convergence technologies, and developing both hardware and software. This will help the school secure educational capabilities to foster core vertical AI talent in preparation for its transition to Korea Mobility High School in 2026.
Principal Kim Juhan said, "This ICT convergence technology training is a great opportunity for students to directly experience core technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and learn independently," adding, "Uijeongbu Technical High School will continue to operate a variety of convergence education programs so that students can grow into future technology professionals."
Meanwhile, with its transition to Korea Mobility High School in 2026, Uijeongbu Technical High School will be reorganized into four specialized departments in the single field of mobility: Mobility Smart City, Mobility Energy, Mobility Smart Factory, and Mobility Motors. Based on eight detailed majors, the school aims to nurture professionals in new technology fields such as smart cities, energy convergence, autonomous driving, drones, and future automobiles.
