33rd Anniversary of Korea-China Diplomatic Ties... Chinese Ambassador Says "Positive Start for Bilateral Relations After New Administration"

On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and China, the Chinese ambassador assessed that the relationship between the two countries has had a positive start with the launch of the new administration.

On August 24, Chinese Ambassador to Korea Dai Bing stated on his social networking service (SNS), "Since the inauguration of South Korea's new government, China-Korea relations have made a good start," adding, "We hope to work together with South Korea to faithfully implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries and further elevate the China-Korea strategic cooperative partnership to a higher level."


Ambassador Dai commented on the 33rd anniversary of diplomatic ties between South Korea and China, saying, "Over the past 33 years, the two countries have actively promoted exchanges and cooperation in various fields, achieving joint development and mutual success, which has greatly benefited both nations and their peoples." He continued, "Under the new circumstances, both sides should recall and uphold the original intention of establishing diplomatic relations and renew their understanding of each other in line with the times." He also emphasized, "We should pursue a new start in cooperation based on mutual benefit and win-win outcomes."


He added, "In recent days, many friendly organizations and individuals in South Korea have sent congratulatory letters and flower baskets to our embassy." He went on to say, "On this day, a special presidential envoy delegation consisting of former National Assembly Speaker Park Byeongseok, Democratic Party lawmakers Kim Taenyon and Park Jeong, and East Asia Cultural Center Chairman Noh Jaeheon is visiting China. We welcome the delegation's visit to China on the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries."
