Physical Confrontation with Police Officers
Famous American rapper and singer Lil Nas X (26) was arrested by police after walking down a road in his underwear.
According to AP News and the New York Times on August 22 (local time), a spokesperson for the Los Angeles (LA) Police Department said that officers responded to a report of a nearly naked man walking on Ventura Boulevard near Studio City, LA, at around 5:50 a.m. the previous day. Upon arrival, they found Lil Nas X walking while wearing only white underwear and cowboy boots, and arrested him at the scene.

Footage obtained by U.S. entertainment outlet TMZ showed Lil Nas X walking in the middle of the boulevard in only his underwear and white boots from around 4 a.m. that morning, walking, dancing, and singing like a model. He reportedly told a passing fan that he was "on his way to a party."

According to police, Lil Nas X physically confronted officers as they approached him. Officers subdued and handcuffed him at the scene. Suspected of a drug overdose, Lil Nas X was transported to a local hospital and discharged a few hours later before being moved to a detention center. Authorities charged him with misdemeanor obstruction of police work.
Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, gained major popularity in 2018 with his debut song "Old Town Road," which blended country music and hip-hop. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 19 consecutive weeks and won two Grammy Awards. His first full-length album "Montero," released in 2021, was nominated in five Grammy categories.
In a past interview, Lil Nas X confessed that he became dependent on drugs after being shocked by his grandmother's death in 2018. His spokesperson did not respond to media requests for comment regarding this incident.
