This agreement marks the first step toward complementary cooperation based on the strengths of both cities. Gangseo District is rapidly emerging as a future-oriented economic city where aviation, cutting-edge industries, ecology, and culture harmonize, centered around Gimpo Airport and the Magok district. Miryang City boasts advanced industrial infrastructure, such as the Nano Convergence National Industrial Complex and the Smart Farm Innovation Valley, as well as pristine natural environments and abundant cultural resources.
During the ceremony, Gangseo District presented a painting titled "Pigumjeongdo" by Jeong Seon, a renowned artist of the Joseon Dynasty, as a gift, while Miryang City offered a straw craftwork that intricately recreates a traditional thatched house.
Ahn Byunggu, Mayor of Miryang, stated, "I hope that Gangseo District, which is the most dynamic and promising area in Seoul thanks to developments like the LG Science Park, and Miryang, which excels in agriculture and cultural resources, will leap forward together through complementary cooperation."
Jin Kyohun, Mayor of Gangseo District, said, "Gangseo has a very solid growth engine based on the Magok advanced research and development industrial complex," adding, "We look forward to expanding various collaborations in connection with Miryang's national industrial complex." He emphasized, "As the two cities, where culture and industry develop in harmony, join hands, we will do our utmost to ensure that future exchanges bring tangible benefits to residents of both regions."
