Three-Month Reduction from September to November 2025
50% Discount on Water and Sewage Usage Fees, Excluding Basic Fees by Meter Size
Uiryeong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 22nd that, following its recent designation as a special disaster area due to heavy rainfall, it will reduce water and sewage fees by 50% to alleviate the financial burden on affected residents and support rapid recovery efforts.
The county decided on this reduction based on the "Framework Act on the Management of Disasters and Safety," the "Uiryeong County Water Supply Ordinance," and the "Uiryeong County Sewerage Usage Ordinance."
The reduction period will last for three months, from September to November 2025, with a 50% discount on water and sewage usage fees, excluding the basic fees by meter size.
For the convenience of residents, Uiryeong County will automatically apply the reduction to approximately 120 households that use water and sewage services and are registered as affected households in the National Disaster Management System (NDMS), without requiring a separate application.
Additionally, households that have not yet registered with the National Disaster Management System will be able to receive the same benefit by applying at their respective township or town administrative welfare centers.
A county official stated, "We hope that the reduction in water fees will help affected residents recover their daily lives as quickly as possible, and we will do our utmost to provide additional support for other aspects of daily stability."
