President Bae Sanghoon Encourages Alumni to Contribute to Humanity's Progress

Graduates are taking commemorative photos at the National Pukyong University graduation ceremony.

National Pukyong University (President Bae Sanghoon) held the 'August 2025 Graduation Ceremony' in the main conference hall on the second floor of the university headquarters on August 22.

A total of 1,402 graduates received their degrees on this day, including 934 bachelor's, 349 master's, and 119 doctoral degrees.

At the graduation ceremony, 12 undergraduate students with outstanding academic performance, including Kim Boyoung (Department of Biotechnology), received the President's Award, while Hong Chaeyeon (Major in Lifelong Education and Human Resource Development) received the Alumni Association President's Award.

President Bae Sanghoon stated, "The steps you take toward the world should aim not only for the graduates themselves but also for the progress of humanity, extending beyond the local community and the nation." He added, "As members of our university's 220,000 alumni, I hope you will raise the value of the university in the nation and the world through your courage and bold challenges, achieving not only personal success but also contributing to society."

He also encouraged the graduates, saying, "The four elements of love mentioned by philosopher Erich Fromm-care, responsibility, respect, and knowledge-are essential qualities of a mature person and are especially important for those of you about to pursue new dreams." He added, "The university will always stand with you, supporting your dreams and challenges."
