On August 19, the "Support Center for Families with Disabilities" officially opened on the first floor of the Uljin County Family Center. As one of the core functions of the Family Center, which opened in July, this center will serve as a welfare hub to enhance emotional stability and access to information for families with disabilities.

In addition, welfare services that go beyond simple support and are deeply integrated into daily life are receiving strong positive responses from residents, establishing themselves as a central pillar in realizing the county's slogan, "Welfare That Moves the Heart."

The "Support Center for Families with Disabilities," located on the first floor of the Uljin County Family Center, began operations on August 19. The center provides a wide range of services, including counseling and case management, resolving care gaps, and strengthening emotional and family capacities, enabling seamless support for people with disabilities and their families.

Furthermore, since the center is located within the Family Center, visitors can access various functions such as the Shared Childcare Room, Family Counseling Room, Language Development Education Room, and Volunteer Center. As a result, once you step into the Family Center, you can handle all related work in one place, earning it a reputation as a true one-stop welfare space.

Uljin County is striving for zero welfare blind spots by actively developing welfare programs for vulnerable and marginalized groups.

Building on the explosive popularity of its mobile hygiene welfare service, the laundry project, the county has opened a second mobile laundry facility for seniors, ensuring that the service is available throughout Uljin without leaving any region underserved. Through the "Hanbang-e OK Repair Team," the county also addresses small-scale daily convenience needs, having resolved over 4,900 civil complaints last year alone.

Additionally, by designating "Dementia-Friendly Villages," the county is working to create dementia-friendly communities based on an integrated, community-centered care system. This includes early screening, preventive education, and dementia safety programs, so that dementia patients and their families can live with dignity in familiar surroundings. The "Happy Senior Center Side Dish Support Project" also ensures balanced nutrition and healthy aging for seniors through regular side dish deliveries. By utilizing volunteers to deliver side dishes each week, the county strengthens community spirit and provides not only meal support but also regular check-ins for emotional care.

Through these initiatives, Uljin County aims to go beyond simply providing welfare services and to foster a care community where residents themselves are at the center of local support.

When a project manager prepares and implements a program alone, there can be overlooked issues in both the content and the execution process. This risk is even greater in welfare programs, where the number of direct beneficiaries is large and the target groups are diverse, making even minor mistakes during implementation potentially lead to significant confusion.

Therefore, by building a care community in which residents directly produce, provide, and benefit from services, the county can gradually strengthen its capabilities and, in the long term, deliver higher-quality welfare services. This is the very goal Uljin County is striving for.

County Governor Son Byeongbok stated, "We must carefully ensure that not a single resident is left behind when it comes to welfare," adding, "Uljin County will continue to do its utmost to realize 'Welfare That Moves the Heart' with no blind spots."
