In particular, with the summer vacation season and school holidays, the participation rate among family tourists and young people was especially high. Notably, during the 16-day program period, there were no safety incidents at all, thanks to thorough safety management and systematic guidance from professional instructors.
Wando County evaluated that by linking this marine leisure sports experience event with marine healing programs, they confirmed the potential for developing it into an experiential tourism product. Especially next year, they plan to further diversify the activities and develop it into a year-round marine leisure product, aiming to establish Wando as a leading marine leisure tourism destination.
One program participant shared, "I came to Wando for a vacation with my family, and experiencing yachting, which I don't usually have the chance to do, created unforgettable memories this summer."
A county official said, "Through this program, we were able to identify new demand for marine leisure tourism," adding, "The influx of participants also had a positive effect on revitalizing local businesses in the surrounding area."
