Jeonnam Provincial Council's Special Budget Committee Announces "Resident-Oriented Review"

The Jeonnam Provincial Council's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts held a "2026 Budget Review Preparation Workshop" in the Hwasun-gun area from August 21 to 22, aiming to strengthen its capabilities for reviewing next year's main budget proposal.

This workshop was organized to enhance expertise and practical skills in the budget review process and to ensure a thorough and substantive review. For the special lecture, Professor Jeong Jongpil from the Local Government Officials Development Institute presented in-depth analysis techniques on the topic of "Budget Review Methods Linked to the Medium-Term Local Fiscal Plan."

Following this, Kim Jiyang, CEO of Maeryeok Brand Lab, emphasized the importance of communication skills for collaborative legislative activities through a lecture on "Communication Leadership." The Special Committee on Budget and Accounts was newly formed on July 10 with 20 members, including Chairman Ryu, and plans to actively carry out key legislative activities such as reviewing the budgets and settlements of Jeonnam Province and the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education.

Chairman Ryu stated, "No matter how much funding is invested, it is meaningless if the residents do not feel the impact," adding, "We will closely examine whether the budget is properly allocated to areas directly related to residents' lives, such as welfare, jobs, and agriculture and fisheries."
