Bucheon City and International Park Golf Sign Agreement for "Bucheon Mayor's Cup Screen Park Golf Tournament"

On August 21, Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province signed a business agreement with International Park Golf to host the "Bucheon Mayor's Cup National Leisure Screen Park Golf Tournament."

This golf tournament is a nationwide event that combines park golf-an activity enjoyed by all generations, including seniors-with ICT-based screen sports. The city expects that this event will attract club members and athletes from across the country to compete, and contribute to the spread of a new leisure culture that merges sports with advanced technology.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, International Park Golf has established around 60 park golf venues and about 2,000 screen golf locations nationwide. The organization has created an accessible and simple environment so that everyone, including seniors and people with disabilities, can easily enjoy the sport.

Bucheon City and International Park Golf plan to work closely together from the preparation stage through to operation, participant support, and promotion, ensuring the tournament is more than just a sporting event and contributes to revitalizing the local sports industry and boosting the regional economy.

Kim Jaeyong, Chairman of International Park Golf, stated, "Park golf is a sport for daily life that everyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy, and it is a wholesome activity that bridges generations. Moving forward, we will widely promote the appeal of screen park golf and create opportunities for more citizens and club members to participate together."

Jo Yongik, Mayor of Bucheon, said, "Bucheon is a city where both recreational and professional sports have developed together. Through this tournament, I hope park golf will become a daily sport that more citizens can enjoy, transcending the limitations of time and space through screens."
