Talk Concerts, Film Festivals, and Forums:
From Youth Week to "Youth Month"
A Variety of Programs Including Talk Concerts, Film Festivals, Festivals, and Forums
Pohang City will operate "2025 Pohang Youth Month - We Are Vibrant Youth!" throughout September, centering on the legal commemorative day "Youth Day," which aims to guarantee youth rights and raise social awareness.
This year, Youth Month has been expanded from the previous Youth Week into a comprehensive month-long festival. Each week has a designated theme, allowing young people to experience participation, culture, communication, and policy proposal all in one place.
The first week of Youth Week, starting on September 6, will feature "Talk & Trend Week," including a talk concert where K-office mentors offer encouragement and interview tips to young people.
On September 13, the "Film & Feel Week" outdoor film festival will be held at the lawn plaza of the Pohang Youth Center, where young people can enjoy popular movies together, share their impressions, and interact with one another.
On September 20, "Beach & Beat Week" will take place at Songdo Beach, with the B·B Festa designed as a participatory festival where young people can come together, express their energy, and enjoy themselves freely.
On the last week, September 27, the 2nd Youth Day Commemoration Ceremony and Youth Forum will be held as the main events of "Lead & Leap Week."
The month-long journey will conclude with a declaration by four local youths, an awards ceremony recognizing those who have contributed to the development of youth policy, a commemorative performance, and a forum where young people can directly propose and discuss policy ideas. On the same day, the "Pleple Market," featuring young entrepreneurs, will also be held, offering a variety of attractions.
Additionally, from September 24 to 26, Youth Week programs will be separately operated at the Pohang Youth Center. Programs include healing Pilates, healthy meal sessions, lectures on U.S. stock investment and real estate basics, as well as psychological and healing classes using aromatherapy and color therapy.
Participants for the main Youth Month programs will be recruited in advance through the Pohang Youth Center and Youth Startup Platform websites, and any young person in Pohang who wishes to participate can apply.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "Youth Month is not just a commemorative event, but a platform where young people can express their voices, empathize, enjoy themselves, and drive change. We will continue to do our best to make Pohang a youth-friendly city where young people can envision a happy and sustainable future."
