Prime Minister Minseok Kim stated on the 22nd, "The 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference will be held in Brazil this November. Each country is required to submit its climate response plan, including its 2035 national greenhouse gas reduction target. The Korean government is also preparing ambitious yet achievable goals."

Prime Minister Kim made these remarks during his opening address at the "2025 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Global Cooperation Conference," hosted by the 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee at a hotel in Seoul on the same day.
He said, "The government plans to significantly expand renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power and to swiftly establish RE100-exclusive industrial complexes. The energy superhighway connecting all regions of Korea will serve as the foundation for environmentally friendly economic growth by promoting decarbonization technologies and the development of new industries." He added, "Korea will work closely with the international community to achieve a green transition."
He further stated, "The Korean government established the Green New Deal Official Development Assistance (ODA) strategy in 2021 and has been continuously expanding green ODA. We are also strengthening our contributions to international organizations such as the United Nations, the Green Climate Fund, and the Global Green Growth Institute to support greenhouse gas reduction and climate adaptation."
