Controversy has arisen as a series of public officials' misconducts have been exposed in connection with singer Psy's "Heumppeok Show" concert. In Busan, police officers were caught entering the concert venue without authorization during work hours, while in Incheon, a firefighter is under investigation for allegedly receiving a large number of tickets.

The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 21st that it is conducting an internal audit of police officers who secretly attended the Heumppeok Show concert while on duty. On August 15 and 16, five female officers, disguised as regular audience members, entered the concert held at the Busan Asiad Auxiliary Stadium and were caught. Assigned to traffic duty, they wore coats over their uniforms and watched the concert without tickets, but were discovered by staff because they did not have the wristbands distributed to audience members.

However, a police official stated, "They saw the concert while going to the restroom during work," and added, "It is not true that they wore coats to cover their uniforms." A representative from the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency said, "We are verifying the facts through an internal audit," and "No disciplinary actions, such as suspension, have been taken against the officers yet."

In Incheon, firefighter under investigation for receiving 80 tickets

Previously in Incheon, a firefighter was found to have received Heumppeok Show tickets, prompting a police investigation. Fire Captain A, affiliated with the Incheon Seobu Fire Station, is accused of receiving 80 concert tickets from the event organizer for the show held at Incheon Asiad Stadium in June. The organizer explained that the tickets were for "inviting families of firefighters," but Fire Captain A reportedly did not report this to the head of the agency. The Incheon Fire Headquarters has suspended Fire Captain A from duty and filed a complaint with the police, while the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency is investigating whether there was a violation of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act.

Meanwhile, Psy's signature summer concert, "Heumppeok Show SUMMERSWAG 2025," was held on June 28 and 29 at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium. This tour, which began in Incheon, will continue through Uijeongbu, Daejeon, Gwacheon, Sokcho, Suwon, Daegu, and Busan, and is scheduled to conclude at Chosun University Main Stadium in Gwangju on August 24.
