Supporting High School Students in Career Exploration and Research Activities
On August 21, educational service company OpenSky announced the publication of a new book titled "All-in-One Guide to Major Exploration Activities," designed to assist high school students with career exploration and research activities.
"All-in-One Guide to Major Exploration Activities" provides essential information required for students to design a clear career roadmap through major-related exploration activities. The book covers introductions and required competencies for 198 majors, recommended books and academic papers for each major, and suggested topics for in-depth research. Written by five current career guidance teachers from middle and high schools, this book was developed to support students who face difficulties with career exploration and related activities.
Han Jongsun, Director at OpenSky, stated, "Many students I met through OpenSky School Mentoring expressed concerns about not being able to choose a career path or not knowing what activities to pursue related to their future careers. We planned this book to provide the necessary information for such students," adding, "We hope that students struggling with career-related concerns will find support through 'All-in-One Guide to Major Exploration Activities.'"
OpenSky School Mentoring is a program in which university student mentors visit middle and high schools to conduct mentoring classes using a curriculum developed in-house by OpenSky. University student mentors are selected through document screening and interviews. After receiving basic training for school classes and preparing for individual school sessions, they go on to conduct mentoring classes.
