Dongui Science University Hosts Global Scholar for Specialized Myofascial Pain Manual Therapy Program

Kostas, Senior IMTT Instructor, Delivers Direct Lectures
Providing Hands-On Experience in International Clinical Education

The Department of Physical Therapy at Dongui Science University (President: Kim Youngdo, Department Head: Kwon Yujeong) announced on the 21st that it hosted Kostas, a senior instructor from the globally renowned IMTT (International Myofascial Triggerpoint Therapy), for the "Specialized Program for Myofascial Pain Manual Therapy" from August 13 to 17.

This program provided a platform for a wide range of participants, from associate degree students to Meister’s technical master’s students, to share diverse academic backgrounds and clinical experiences. Participants engaged in advanced learning of myofascial pain management and manual therapy techniques, and through Kostas’s lectures and hands-on sessions, they acquired the latest treatment trends and international clinical approaches.

The training went beyond simply acquiring techniques, emphasizing evidence-based treatment strategies and clinical reasoning skills. It was evaluated as an opportunity for both students and therapists to experience world-class physical therapy education.

Department Head Kwon Yujeong stated, "It was a valuable opportunity to learn directly from the knowledge and treatment philosophy of a global scholar," and added, "We will continue to expand educational exchanges with international experts to nurture physical therapists with global competitiveness."

Dongui Science University is strengthening clinical education both domestically and internationally, centered on the Department of Physical Therapy, and is operating a variety of specialized programs that foster international competencies from associate degree to Meister’s technical master’s level.
