The Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office announced on the 21st that it had carried out community disaster relief volunteer activities on the 20th in Sinan-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, an area affected by heavy rain damage.
During the volunteer activities, 10 staff members, including the heads of the General Affairs Division and Compensation Division, visited four households affected by the flooding together with Buk-gu District Office volunteers, helping to replace wallpaper and flooring, clean household items, and improve the living environment.
Kim Seokki, Director of the Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office, stated, "In a situation where our agency has been designated as exempt from the Ulchi Exercise, we determined that it is important to share the suffering of the local community." He added, "The Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office will continue to take an interest in and participate in activities together with the local community in the future."
