Youngjin College Medical K-Beauty Department Volunteers at Elderly Facility with Scalp Care and Hand Massage Services

Students from the Medical K-Beauty Department at Youngjin College (President Choi Jaeyoung) carried out beauty volunteer activities to support the local elderly in having a healthy summer.

On August 21, 12th-grade students from the Medical K-Beauty Department visited the Jeongdaun Home Care Center for the Elderly in Seo-gu, Daegu, where they provided scalp care and hand massage services. Through these activities, they cared for the health of seniors exhausted by the heat and shared warmth and kindness.

Youngjin College Medical K-Beauty Department Volunteers at Elderly Facility with Scalp Care and Hand Massage Services Students in the 12th grade of the Medical K-Beauty Department at Youngjin College are carrying out scalp care volunteer activities for the elderly.

The participating students put into practice the professional skills they learned in the classroom by serving the elderly on-site, connecting their major competencies with volunteer work. In particular, scalp care helped promote blood circulation and scalp health, while hand massages relieved muscle tension, providing both physical and emotional vitality.

Park Gaun, a second-year student who took part in the volunteer work, said, "Although the weather was hot, I felt rewarded to bring a little joy to the elderly. I want to continue volunteering and become someone who contributes to the local community."

Choi Insook, a first-year student, shared, "When the seniors thanked us with healthy smiles, I was deeply moved. I will never forget the importance of loving our neighbors and will strive to become someone who benefits society."

Bae Giwan, head of the Medical K-Beauty Department, stated, "Volunteering with the local community is a core educational value and part of our university’s educational philosophy. We will continue to support our students so they can grow into professionals who pursue beauty while practicing sharing and love."

Meanwhile, the Medical K-Beauty Department at Youngjin College runs a practical, field-oriented curriculum that integrates medical knowledge with beauty skills, fostering expertise in areas such as skin and scalp care, body shape management, and senior-friendly beauty care. The department also actively combines field training and social contribution activities, helping students develop both professional competencies and the values of character and service.
