The 'Comfort (we,路) Life Love Together Day' commemorating Yangju City's Suicide Prevention Day is an event where citizens can empathize and participate together to promote suicide prevention and the spread of a culture that values life, in honor of World Suicide Prevention Day (held annually on September 10).
This year, under the theme 'We on the Road, Let’s Love Life Together,' participants will have time to reflect on their hearts and appreciate the value of life through a walking event and a comfort concert.
This event will consist of a preliminary program, Part 1 for awards and the opening ceremony, Part 2 with a walking competition, and Part 3 featuring the comfort concert.
Additionally, various booths will be operated to promote the holistic improvement of physical and mental health, including a Life Love campaign photo zone, stress tests, a mobile community health keeper, and family counseling for healthy households.
Oh Sanghun, Director of the Mental Health Welfare Center, stated, "'Comfort (we,路)' is Yangju Suicide Prevention Center's unique brand, meaning 'we walk the road together.' I believe that by comforting each other's hearts and walking together, Yangju will become a city safe from suicide. I hope the 2025 event, which combines culture and physical activity through walking and a comfort concert, will be a valuable opportunity for citizens to form bonds and share their hearts."
An official from Yangju City Public Health Center said, "We hope this Suicide Prevention Day event will comfort the hearts of Yangju citizens, spread messages of hope for life, and serve as an opportunity to remind everyone of the preciousness of life. We will continue to strive to realize a life-loving Yangju City by holding events where citizens can empathize and participate. We ask for the interest and participation of many citizens in this event."
