This seminar was organized to share the results of policy research conducted by the committee, which has been focusing on policy studies through IP-related academic societies to address various social issues related to AI, and to discuss directions for institutional improvement.
During the seminar, presentations included an analysis of litigation cases in the United States, where AI-related lawsuits are the most active, and the implications for domestic legal systems and industries; a review of copyright issues in the AI learning process; and ways to protect forms or voices that can be reproduced by AI as new types of IP. Experts from both the AI and industrial sectors participated, engaging in discussions about balancing technological advancement with institutional reform.
Lee Kwanghyung, the civilian chair of the committee, stated, "This seminar is an important opportunity to assess the direction in which the IP system should move amid rapidly evolving AI technology," adding, "I hope that the combination of academic analysis and practical industry experience will lead to concrete and effective policy discussions."
