Hands-On Programs Featuring Hanbok, K-Beauty, and K-Pop
Promoting the Appeal of Korean Tourism and Boosting Travel Demand to Korea

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on August 22 that they will host the "2025 Washington D.C. K-Tourism Roadshow" at Tysons Corner Center in Virginia, United States, for two days starting from August 23 (local time).

This event, held at a major shopping mall near Washington D.C., is designed to widely promote the appeal of Korean tourism in the eastern United States and to offer local consumers direct experiences.

At the venue, a variety of programs will take place, including hanbok experiences, K-beauty and K-food tastings, and a K-pop dance competition. There will also be a media art exhibition and an outdoor Korean film screening area, targeting a wide range of visitors from families to the MZ generation, Hallyu fans, and high-income and culturally interested groups. The goal is to promote Korea as an attractive cultural tourism destination and to increase demand for travel to Korea.

On-site, there will also be consultation booths operated by American travel agencies selling travel packages to Korea.

The Korea Tourism Organization expects that, ahead of the Korea-U.S. summit scheduled for August 25, this event will go beyond simple tourism promotion and serve as an opportunity to expand the growing interest in Korea, sparked by the summit, into cultural and tourism experiences.

Cho Heejin, head of the Korea Tourism Organization's Americas Center, stated, "This roadshow will provide an opportunity to vividly experience Korea through the screen," adding, "We will do our best to turn the heightened interest in visiting Korea, driven by K-content, into actual visits."

Meanwhile, the United States is the fourth-largest source of tourists to Korea, following China, Japan, and Taiwan. Last year, the number of American tourists visiting Korea reached a record high of 1.3 million, up 21.5% from the previous year. The Korea Tourism Organization plans to continue this growth trend and further solidify Korea's position in the U.S. tourism market through this roadshow.
