President Lee Jae Myung stated on the 20th that a large-scale concert venue is necessary to further expand the foundation of K-pop. He also emphasized the importance of supporting and nurturing the fields of pure arts and culture.
On the same day, President Lee participated in a special program titled "K-Pop: The Next Chapter," which aired on Arirang International Broadcasting. The broadcast featured director Maggie Kang, who directed the recently popular "K-Pop Demon Hunters," TWICE members Jihyo and Jeongyeon who sang songs for the film, producer R.Tee, and music critic Kim Youngdae.
President Lee expressed a strong sense of responsibility regarding the opinion that domestic concert venues are essential for expanding K-pop's reach. He pointed out, "There are not that many performance facilities in our country. There are hardly any large-scale venues." He added, "We need large-scale concert halls and facilities, and if that is not possible, I am considering modifying existing facilities so that they can at least be used for such purposes."

President Lee also remarked, "For a great tree to grow, the grassland must be well taken care of," stressing that "support and nurturing for the fields of pure arts and culture are truly necessary."
However, he made it clear that while the government should support the arts and culture sector, it should not interfere. President Lee criticized, "There is an instinct among political powers to control, and although former President Kim Dae Jung formalized the principle of supporting without interfering, it is not being properly upheld."
He continued, "The government's role is to create a free environment, provide ample resources so that growth is possible, and allow new areas to emerge through competition within that environment."
Meanwhile, President Lee said that the most impressive scene in "K-Pop Demon Hunters" was "the seolleongtang and kkakdugi were the best." The film features a scene where characters eat kkakdugi with seolleongtang. As for memorable characters, he mentioned the tiger "Duffy" and the grim reaper. In particular, regarding Duffy, President Lee said, "They transformed the tiger, the animal our people feared most, into something lovable and cute."
