First, Mayor Lee reviewed the situation of residents affected by the disaster, stating, "On August 13, we experienced unprecedented damage such as road flooding, vehicle submersion, and the displacement of residents due to extreme rainfall of 121mm per hour and a total of 270mm."

Mayor Lee emphasized, "Thanks to thorough preparation and swift response, we minimized the damage without any casualties," and urged officials to "focus administrative resources on ensuring that citizens can return to their daily lives as quickly as possible."

He added, "The scene of flood damage I witnessed during volunteer work to restore flooded homes last weekend was heartbreaking, but with the combined efforts of volunteers, the area was quickly restored. I truly felt that the warm support from the community gave strength to the affected residents."

Mayor Lee also requested, "Alongside the necessary administrative support for households affected by the disaster, including displaced residents, please implement compassionate administration that delivers empathy and comfort."

After receiving a comprehensive report on the heavy rain damage and recovery from the disaster response officer, as well as separate reports from departments responsible for housing, commercial properties, roads, vehicles, farmland, and rivers, Mayor Lee stressed, "Please pay special attention to securing relief supplies, making advance payments for food and accommodation, installing backflow valves in homes at risk of flooding, strengthening automatic river entry prevention systems, and installing devices to prevent manhole openings to prevent recurrence."

In addition, Mayor Lee said, "Starting today in Gajwa-dong, we will hold communication meetings with residents in all 44 districts to listen to their concerns and share key city policies. As the district offices are the frontline administrative agencies, please take an interest in issues directly related to residents' convenience and work to resolve complaints."

He particularly noted, "There are some complaints that are difficult to resolve at the district level due to various reasons such as legal restrictions, budget requirements, or conflicting interests. It is important to cooperate with the relevant departments to share the situation with citizens and to work together with them to find alternative solutions."

Meanwhile, during today's executive meeting, topics such as encouraging residents to pay local taxes, thorough collection of overdue taxes, and diligent implementation and encouragement of the Eulji exercise were also discussed.
