The "curriculum-based regional education program" is an initiative led by the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education. It is designed to help students with career planning by offering subjects that are difficult to establish in general high schools in collaboration with local universities.
In this program, the Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology provided a diverse range of education, including health care policy, health care issues by life cycle, aging and low birthrate issues, hands-on experiences for the elderly and pregnant women, preparation of health education materials, disaster safety and CPR training, health education planning and evaluation, and drafting and presenting educational plans.
In particular, participating students used AI programs to analyze the status of the local community by life cycle, identified issues, and then planned and presented health education topics to address these issues, thereby gaining opportunities to develop their problem-solving skills.
Kim Yoonji, head of the Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, said, "I hope this program has provided practical help for students' career planning," and added, "We will continue to utilize the university's educational resources and facilities to carry out various activities in collaboration with the local community."
