Sungju County held an evaluation briefing for the '2025 Sungju Chamoe & Life Culture Festival' on August 19 in the county office's cultural lecture room, with more than 40 members of the festival promotion committee, subcommittee members, related staff, and representatives from the consulting firm in attendance. The meeting reviewed the achievements and challenges of this year's festival and discussed directions for further development in next year's event.
The purpose of this evaluation briefing was to present future-oriented festival operation strategies by diagnosing the successes and limitations of the festival, analyzing visitor satisfaction and economic impact, conducting objective verification through the use of big data and the Tourism Data Lab, and comparing similar cases both domestically and internationally.
According to the results of the 'Festival Performance Analysis and Development Plan' evaluation service, the expansion of the citizen participation parade, the kids' zone that attracted families with young children, and the operation of the Chamoe tasting zone and Chamoe lounge significantly increased visitor satisfaction.
In particular, the festival achieved notable results in expanding consumption of local agricultural specialty products, enhancing brand image, and strengthening residents' pride. During the subsequent meeting, the direction for next year's festival was also confirmed.
Going forward, the Sungju County Festival Promotion Committee plans to actively pursue strengthening content related to the theme of life culture, building a differentiated tourism brand, enhancing content tailored to various age groups, and reinforcing the community by expanding citizen participation, all based on the results of this evaluation.
Lee Changkil, chairman of the festival promotion committee, stated, "This year's festival brought together Sungju's proud chamoe and unique life culture, widely promoting our community's pride and providing a meaningful event where everyone became one. Through this evaluation briefing, we will address areas for improvement and do our utmost to prepare for next year's festival so that we can present an even more complete event to our residents and visitors."
Lee Byunghwan, governor of Sungju County, said, "I ask for your active participation so that next year's festival can once again be an event where everyone is the main character, created and enjoyed together with one heart, and a festival that truly represents and brightens Sungju."
