Search and Seizure Conducted
at DL Construction Headquarters and On-Site Office
The Uijeongbu Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Gyeonggi Northern Provincial Police Agency announced on the 20th that they are conducting a search and seizure of DL Construction, the contractor, in connection with the death of a worker who fell while dismantling a debris net at a construction site in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, on the 8th.
The Ministry and the police began the search and seizure on the morning of the same day, targeting DL Construction's headquarters and the on-site office. Approximately 34 labor inspectors and police officers have been deployed for this operation.
The Ministry and the police stated, "Through this search and seizure, we will verify the workplace safety measures and the overall safety management system in place to prevent fall accidents," adding, "We will thoroughly investigate the structural and fundamental causes that led to the occurrence of a serious accident at this construction company."
The Uijeongbu Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to promptly investigate any violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act based on the evidence secured during this search and seizure.
