Siheung City to Accept Applications for "Early Scrap Subsidy for Old Vehicles" Starting on the 25th

Targeting Grade 4 and 5 Diesel Vehicles and More

Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province will accept applications for the "2025 Second Half Early Scrap Subsidy Program for Old Vehicles," aimed at reducing air pollution caused by emissions from aging vehicles, from August 25 to September 5.

This program provides subsidies to vehicle owners who scrap their old vehicles. Eligible vehicles are those that have been continuously registered in Siheung City or within the air quality management area for at least six months as of the application date.

The subsidy applies to: ▲ Grade 4 and 5 diesel vehicles (Grade 5 includes non-diesel fuels) ▲ Type 3 construction machinery for road use manufactured according to emission standards prior to August 31, 2009 ▲ Forklifts, excavators, and similar equipment manufactured in compliance with emission standards under the Enforcement Rules of the Air Environment Conservation Act.

The subsidy amount will be determined based on the upper limit and support rate, using the vehicle's standard value for the first quarter of this year as calculated by the Insurance Development Institute, taking into account the vehicle type and age. Priority will be given to one vehicle per person based on the vehicle's manufacturing date. However, vehicle owners who received an early scrap subsidy in the first half of the year are excluded from this round of support.
