Seoul Unveils "Housing Information Portal" Covering Rentals, Sales, and Redevelopment Projects A view of apartment complexes in downtown Seoul from Namsan, Seoul

On August 20, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced the launch of the "Seoul Housing Information Portal," which provides not only rental information but also data on property sales and redevelopment projects.

The Seoul Housing Information Portal consolidates a wide range of housing market data, including existing rental information, property sales market data, and redevelopment project details. It also includes updates on the progress of redevelopment projects by stage, the volume of upcoming housing supply, and monthly housing market (sales) survey results. The portal publicly discloses the status of redevelopment, reconstruction, and small-scale maintenance projects, as well as the expected supply of new housing units.

The rental information previously provided has been significantly improved for user convenience. The jeonse ratio, which was previously released quarterly, is now available as a map-based monthly dataset.

The rental supply forecasting system has also been upgraded. It now reflects the impact of new large-scale housing complexes and changes the disclosure cycle from semiannual to quarterly, allowing movers to check supply information two months in advance.

Based on a housing market monitoring survey of 461 licensed real estate agents in Seoul, the scope of data has been expanded from rentals to include the sales market as well. Citizens can now check monthly updates on the current prices and outlook for sales, jeonse, and monthly rental markets by district, as well as forecasts of transaction demand.

Additionally, information on the expected supply of housing units in Seoul for the next two years will be regularly reviewed and updated every six months. Through this, citizens can easily grasp not only the current status of development but also the scale of future supply projections at a glance.

The supply volume for redevelopment, reconstruction, and small-scale maintenance projects will be disclosed by project stage. Confirmed project details, from district designation to groundbreaking, will be provided by district, project type, and stage of progress.

Choi Jinseok, head of Seoul's Housing Bureau, stated, "We expect the Seoul Housing Information Portal, which brings together all essential information for housing transactions, will help alleviate the difficulties citizens face due to a lack of housing market information and directly assist them in making rational contract decisions."
