On the 20th, under mostly cloudy skies, Gwangju and Jeonnam will experience continued heatwave conditions, with midday temperatures soaring to around 35 degrees Celsius.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, the heatwave warning will remain in effect due to the influence of a high-pressure system located off the southern coast of Japan, with the maximum perceived temperature expected to approach 35 degrees Celsius. Some areas may also experience tropical nights.
Morning lows will range from 23 to 26 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will rise to 32 to 35 degrees Celsius. The waves in the coastal waters of the West Sea and South Sea will be calm at 0.5 meters, and the concentration of ultrafine dust will remain at a 'good' level.
An official from the Meteorological Administration advised, "As the risk of heat-related illness is high, please stay hydrated frequently and refrain from prolonged agricultural work or working alone."
