SH Obtains International Standard Environmental Management Certification ISO 14001

On August 19, Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH) announced that it had obtained the international standard environmental management certification (ISO 14001) from the Korea Management Registration (KMR).

ISO 14001 is an international certification in the field of environmental management established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is a globally recognized system that assesses whether an organization systematically manages its environmental impact, complies with environmental regulations, and practices sustainable environmental management.

SH has continuously strengthened its environmental management by establishing environmental management plans, developing a roadmap for greenhouse gas reduction, declaring its commitment to environmental management, and linking its major projects with mid- to long-term environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies.

The company has actively reflected key environmental issues by benchmarking similar organizations and conducting double materiality assessments. It has also steadily expanded its efforts to address ESG-related environmental issues and to disclose environmental information.

Sangha Hwang, President of SH, stated, "This certification is the result of the collective efforts of all executives and employees to establish and implement an environmental management system. We will continue to do our best to earn the trust of citizens as a public institution that actively responds to climate change and fulfills its environmental responsibilities."
