400 Slots Filled in Just 10 Days After Registration Opens

Goheung County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Youngmin) announced that applications for the "2025 Goheung Blue Marine Bicycle Tour," which will be held over two days from September 13 to 14, have closed early due to overwhelming interest and enthusiastic response.

Originally, participant registration for the Blue Marine Bicycle Tour was scheduled to remain open until the 25th. However, fueled by strong interest from cycling enthusiasts and the general public nationwide, all 400 available slots were filled just ten days after registration opened, on August 14, leading to an early closure.

This year’s participants will enjoy a healing journey along the Nokdong and Geogeum areas, where Goheung’s pristine sea and islands come together, soaking in the coastal scenery. The approximately 60km circular course will start at the Marianne-Margaret Sharing Training Center, pass through Sorok Bridge, Geogeum Bridge, and the Geogeum Island Circuit, before returning to the training center.

In particular, this event is designed as a stay-type program that connects local specialties, tourist attractions, and cafes, allowing participants to experience the diverse charms of Goheung. Various benefits have also been prepared, including support for charter bus fees for groups of 20 or more participants and incentives for individual participants.

A Goheung County official stated, "The fact that registration closed early in such a short time is a meaningful achievement that demonstrates the competitiveness of Goheung’s coastal scenery and tourism content. We will do our utmost to ensure that participants can enjoy a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable trip."

Meanwhile, Goheung County plans to actively foster the local tourism industry by developing differentiated tourism content that links aerospace, marine, and wellness resources, and by expanding the infrastructure for stay-type tourism, with the goal of attracting 10 million tourists by 2030.
