Showcasing a Wide Range of Products Including Food, Handicrafts, and Household Goods
Twenty-two social economy enterprises, including social enterprises, social cooperatives, cooperatives, village enterprises, and self-sufficiency enterprises, participated in the 'Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival,' directly engaging with citizens and widely promoting the value of the social economy.
From August 8 to 16, social economy enterprises hosted the '2025 Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival Social Economy Market' in the Eunhaenggyo area. The event concluded successfully, thanks to the high level of interest from citizens and the active participation of social economy enterprises.
For the past three years, social economy enterprises have participated in the 0 O'Clock Festival each year, striving to expand offline sales channels, enhance brand recognition, and spread the value of the social economy.
This year's market featured a variety of products, including food, handicrafts, and household goods, and recorded approximately 30 million won in sales during the event period. Beyond simple sales figures, the event is seen as a venue where social economy enterprises and citizens could meet and interact directly, effectively promoting the value of the social economy.
In addition to product displays and sales, the event offered citizen experience programs, corporate promotional video production, and online publicity, providing more opportunities for people to become familiar with the social economy.
The participating enterprises evaluated the event as achieving results such as discovering new customer bases, maximizing product promotion effectiveness, and strengthening direct communication with the local community. Analysts noted that these outcomes go beyond mere sales figures, signifying that the social economy has become more deeply integrated into local commerce and citizens' daily lives.
Kwon Kyungmin, Director of Economic Affairs for Daejeon City, stated, "This event was designed to help the social economy naturally become part of citizens' everyday lives, and it proved to be a meaningful experience for both participating enterprises and citizens." He added, "We will continue to actively pursue various support measures to ensure the sustainable growth and enhanced competitiveness of social economy enterprises."
