Three Universities in Nam-gu, Busan Join Forces
25 Startup Clubs Participate in B-Star Startup Academy
Hands-on Program Supports Local Student Entrepreneurs
The RISE Project Group at National Pukyong University, led by Director Ha Myungshin, hosted the 'B-Star Startup Academy' on August 8, 2025, at the Avani Central Busan Hotel. This event was a collaborative effort among local universities in Nam-gu, Busan, including National Pukyong University, Tongmyong University, and Kyungsung University.
This event was part of the 'B-Star Open Campus' project, which was launched last month by the three universities as part of the Regional Innovation-led University Support System (RISE) to ensure its successful implementation.
Forty-five students from 25 startup clubs representing the three Nam-gu universities in Busan participated in the event. The program focused on hands-on activities such as discovering market opportunities, refining business ideas, drafting and receiving feedback on business plans, and analyzing revenue models and feasibility.
This event marked the first stage of a joint program for startup clubs aimed at solving local issues among Nam-gu universities. Moving forward, the universities plan to co-host step-by-step entrepreneurship education programs.
Ha Myungshin, Director of the RISE Project Group at National Pukyong University, stated, "Through the B-Star Open Campus, we will support students from Nam-gu universities in Busan to commercialize their outstanding startup ideas, foster Busan-style entrepreneurs, and work even harder to expand this initiative into a joint program among universities across the Busan area."
