Elderly Individual Dies After Being Run Over by Own Cultivator
Police Investigating Cause of Accident
An accident occurred in which an individual in their 80s was killed after being run over by their own cultivator while heading to the market.
According to the Gangjin Police Station in South Jeolla Province, at approximately 7:54 a.m. on August 18, a report was received that a person in their 80s, identified as A, was found pinned under a cultivator on a road near the Maryang Five-Day Market in Gangjin County.
A, who was discovered by market vendors and other bystanders, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that A was driving the cultivator to the market when they struck the curb separating the road and the sidewalk, fell off, and were subsequently run over by the rear wheel of the cultivator.
The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
