According to the men's golf weekly world rankings released on August 17 (local time), MacIntyre earned 4.97 points, jumping eight spots from 16th place last week. He accumulated ranking points by finishing as runner-up at the BMW Championship, the second event of the PGA Tour Playoffs (PO), held at Caves Valley Golf Club (par 70, 7,061 yards) in Owings Mills, Maryland, USA. Although he led for three days, he lost three strokes on the final day and slipped to second place. MacIntyre debuted on the PGA Tour in 2024 and has already secured two victories.
Scottie Scheffler of the United States, who won the BMW Championship, further solidified his position as world number one. Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland remains in second place, while Xander Schauffele of the United States holds onto third. Among Korean players, Im Sungjae is ranked 29th, An Byeonghun is 60th, Kim Siwoo is 63rd, and Kim Joo-hyung is 79th.
