Korea Tourism Organization Holds Event to Celebrate 1 Million Members on 'Korea Travel Easy'

Korea Travel Easy is a leading domestic travel platform where users can find travel information for destinations across the country in one place. It began providing travel information on the Korea Tourism Organization website in 1997, launched a mobile app in 2011, and was integrated into a responsive web-based platform in 2018, which is the current system in operation.

The platform offers a variety of information and services, including: travel information on destinations, restaurants, accommodations, and festivals and events nationwide; popular attractions, restaurants, and accommodations by region (via the 'Region' menu); 'AI Kkokkok', a personalized travel recommendation service based on age group and preferences; 'AI Kkokkok Planner', a travel course creation service that reflects users' preferred regions, schedules, and themes; 'Gabolrae-teo', a regular curation service recommending travel destinations by season and trend; and the 'Digital Tourism Resident Card', which provides travel benefits in regions facing population decline.

Recently, the platform has been making new efforts to enhance user convenience, such as using artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically summarize travel articles and comments. In addition, through collaborations with Kakao Mobility and Tmap, it utilizes traveler movement data to deliver vibrant content that reflects actual demand for popular destinations and seasonal visit trends.

Lee Sangmin, Director of the National Tourism Division at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "We plan to continue expanding timely travel information and personalized travel services using AI technology," adding, "We will strive to further develop into a user-friendly travel platform that everyone in the country can conveniently use."
