President Lee Visits Jingwansa Temple: "Focusing on Normalizing State Affairs... Must Embrace the People Who Have Been Hurt" President Lee Jae Myung and his wife are examining the 'Jingwansa Taegukgi,' one of the treasures, at the Daeungjeon Hall of Jingwansa Temple in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, on the 17th. The Jingwansa Taegukgi was created during the Japanese colonial period by painting the Taeguk pattern and the four trigrams over the Japanese flag with ink.

On the 17th, President Lee Jae Myung visited Jingwansa Temple in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, stating, "We must successfully manage the schedule for the upcoming summit," and adding, "We need to embrace and care for the people who have been hurt."


Kang Yoo Jung, spokesperson for the presidential office, announced that President Lee and his wife visited Jingwansa Temple in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, on this day. Jingwansa Temple is where the 'Jingwansa Taegukgi,' which was created during the Japanese colonial period by painting the Taeguk pattern and the four trigrams over the Japanese flag with ink, and the Independence Newspaper were discovered.


President Lee and his wife lit incense and performed three deep bows in time with the sound of the moktak at the Daeungjeon Hall of Jingwansa Temple, and Monk Deokhyeon personally led the prayer ceremony. Afterwards, Monk Beophae, the head of Jingwansa Temple, explained the temple's history and introduced President Lee and his wife to the treasured Taegukgi and the Independence Newspaper.


Following this, President Lee and his wife enjoyed the small waterfall behind the temple along the hiking trail near Jingwansa and greeted citizens. At the Han Culture Experience Center, they participated in a brief meditation and tea session, and shared a dinner prepared by Monk Gyeho, recognized as a master of temple cuisine.


Spokesperson Kang stated, "President Lee mentioned that it is important to successfully carry out the upcoming summit schedule." Kang also relayed that President Lee emphasized the need to focus on normalizing state affairs after the turbulent past, and to embrace and unite the people who have been divided and hurt."
