The Presidential Office will hold a 'Meeting with Economic Organizations and Business Leaders' prior to the Korea-U.S. summit to hear about plans for investment and purchases in the United States, as well as any challenges faced.
On the 17th, Deputy Spokesperson Jeon Eunsoo stated in a written briefing, "The Presidential Office plans to focus next week on follow-up measures for national policy tasks and preparations for the overseas trip."
President Lee will visit the United States from August 24 to 26 to meet with President Donald Trump. The Presidential Office plans to invite key figures from the business community before the Korea-U.S. summit to express gratitude for their multifaceted support during the U.S. tariff negotiations. The agenda includes listening to achievements in the economic sector related to the summit, Korean companies' investment and purchase plans in the U.S., and any difficulties they are experiencing.
In addition, Chief of Staff Kang Hoonshik, Policy Chief Kim Yongbeom, and National Security Chief Wi Sunglak will hold a press briefing. Deputy Spokesperson Jeon explained, "We expect active communication with the media regarding the government's national vision and major issues, through Q&A sessions covering diplomacy, security, policy, economy, and personnel."
Regarding the government's economic growth strategy, a meeting of relevant ministers and a joint briefing are scheduled. The briefing will cover discussions on driving a super-innovative economy, including the AI transformation and SI semiconductors.
