Many Building Occupants Evacuated

At approximately 1:09 p.m. on August 17, a report was filed with emergency services stating that an explosive device had been installed in a nine-story commercial building in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, where the Burger King Suwon Yeongtong branch is located. Police and fire authorities have begun searching the premises.

It was reported that the incident was triggered by a social media post in which a user complained about delayed deliveries and unkind staff at the fast-food restaurant, stating, "I'm here to plant an explosive device," which led someone to file the report.

Upon receiving the report, police and fire authorities secured the scene and evacuated customers. Although nothing unusual has been found so far, a large number of people have evacuated the building.

The building consists of nine floors above ground and three basement levels, and houses facilities such as hospitals and private academies. Police are investigating the exact circumstances, including whether any explosive devices have been installed inside or outside the building.
