This event was organized to commemorate Pakistan's Independence Day (August 14, 1947), to reinforce practical economic cooperation between Korea and Pakistan, and to deepen cultural ties.

On this day, Mayor Lee Donghwan attended to celebrate the 78th anniversary of Pakistan's independence and delivered a message commemorating the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Goyang's economic organizations and the Pakistan Business Association (PBA).

The event was attended by Syed Moazam Shah, ambassador of Pakistan to Korea; Mudassar Ali Jima, president of the Pakistan Business Association; Lee Sangheon, president of the Goyang Chamber of Commerce and Industry; other key figures; and Pakistani nationals residing in Korea, adding significance to the occasion.

In his congratulatory address, Mayor Lee Donghwan stated, "Korea and Pakistan share the painful history of having endured foreign domination, but both nations have wisely overcome these hardships. Today's event is not merely a commemorative ceremony, but a starting point to further solidify economic cooperation and cultural exchange, building upon the historical pain shared by both countries."
