"YouTube Live Comment Threatens 'Explosive at Old Andong Station'
Andong Police Identify Suspect and Confirm Residence in Dongdaemun-gu"
A teenage suspect who threatened to detonate an explosive at the plaza in front of the old Andong Station in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, was apprehended in Seoul.
The Andong Police Station announced that at around 2:25 p.m. on the 15th, they arrested a high school student, referred to as A, on charges of making public threats at a residence in Dongdaemun District, Seoul.
At approximately 7:37 a.m. that day, A posted a message in a YouTube live broadcast chat saying, "I will detonate an explosive at the old Andong Station plaza."
At the time, about 300 citizens had gathered at the location to witness the reunion of the filming crew from the 2015 KBS documentary "KBS Documentary 3 Days - Andong Station" and a college student who appeared in the episode. Although the program ended in 2022, the episode about Andong Station, aired a decade ago, became widely discussed on social media after it was revealed that two female college students and a producer, who traveled by train together, had promised to meet again at the same place 10 years later.
The police deployed officers from nearby police substations, the Andong Police Station's initial response team, and the police special operations unit to control and search the scene.
No explosives were found during the search, and the police lifted the site control at around 10:20 a.m., approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes later.
It is reported that the police were able to identify A through location tracking and other methods.
A police official stated, "Investigators from Andong Police Station are currently heading to Seoul to question A."
