Yangju Holds 80th Liberation Day Ceremony
Honoring the Sacrifice and Devotion of Patriotic Martyrs and Independence Activists

On the morning of August 15, the city of Yangju in Gyeonggi Province held the "80th Anniversary Liberation Day Ceremony" at the Gyeonggi Textile Comprehensive Support Center Convention Hall, reflecting on the noble spirit of sacrifice shown by the patriotic martyrs and independence activists who dedicated themselves to the liberation of the nation.

This event was organized to mark the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day. Various dignitaries attended, including Yangju Mayor Yang Suhyun, independence patriots and their bereaved families, as well as leaders and members of veterans and security organizations, all expressing deep remembrance and gratitude for the spirits of those who defended the nation.


The ceremony proceeded in the following order: the national pledge, a commemorative address, a vocal performance, a play by the theater troupe Saeroun Sesang, the singing of the Liberation Day song, and three cheers of "Manse."


In particular, as this year marks the significant 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, the event was designed as a meaningful occasion for citizens to collectively remember the contributions of independence patriots who helped build today's Republic of Korea.

In his commemorative address, Mayor Yang Suhyun stated, "We must strive to make the free Republic of Korea, protected through the noble sacrifices of patriotic martyrs and independence activists, an even better and more beautiful country to live in. Yangju City will do its utmost to honor and respect the patriotism, courage, and fighting spirit of the independence patriots who gave their lives for freedom and peace."
